Why go to wedding fairs as a vender or visitor?

Me at Shiny Creations’ booth at last week’s Wight Bridal Wedding Show at Medina.

Weddings are beautiful, but let’s face it; organising one is not a pretty process! The word ‘Bridezilla’ gets thrown around a lot, just because you have an image of what your big day will look like and so far, this isn’t it.

With so much to take care of, in such a short amount of time, it’s impossible to put in the research necessary to know if you have picked the right photographer, venue, dress, DJ or band, ceremony, appetisers, florist, chair covers… wow I think I need to lie down. Everyone is telling you that they are the best at what they do but you rarely get to meet them in person for longer than five minutes.

This is why wedding fairs and bridal shows are fantastic. Here, in one venue, a massive range of the best wedding services have conveniently displayed everything they have to offer you and are available to chat face to face about what YOU want.

Holly from Holly Cade Photography and I were loving the free cupcake samples, (a reason to attend wedding fairs in itself!)

Similarly, if you are a business, attending fairs and shows offers you unique feedback on your products and services from the very people who you are trying to sell to. With the right display, hand outs and friendly attitude, you can reach a massive customer pool and even secure some bookings/sales on the actual day.

Plus, it’s a great place to network with other businesses, if they provide a service that is different but compliments yours then perhaps you can do a business card swap and recommend each other to your existing client base. If a customer likes this businesses’ service and trusts their judgement then they are more likely to visit your store or website on their recommendation, (and of course, it’s always nice making new friends!)

Oh Helen, can’t you see he doesn’t love you!

I made a lot of new friends when I attended the Wight Bridal Wedding Show at Medina Leisure centre in Newport last weekend. This was Shiny Creations’ third time exhibiting at Wight Bridal and once again it was well attended and included the very best the wedding industry has to offer. We were fortunate to have our stall in an excellent spot with our friend Holly from Holly Cade Photography as one of our neighbouring exhibitors.

Here are some of the businesses who also exhibited at The Wight Bridal Wedding Show. Be sure to check them out if you are planning an upcoming wedding.
