Craft at Comic Con!

We geeks are a creative lot and nowhere is that better displayed than at Comic Con. We found some impressive creations from hand-made memorabilia, to nerdy cupcakes!  There was some seriously impressive origami skills happening at the British Origami booth. We found some great geek jewellery, I particularly loved the alpaca necklaces and the hunger games, colourful bracelets. As well as a whole sweet section in the pop Asia zone, there were super hero sweet treat to be found all over the place. Like these amazing gingerbread men …

Why go to wedding fairs as a vender or visitor?

Weddings are beautiful, but let’s face it; organising one is not a pretty process! The word ‘Bridezilla’ gets thrown around a lot, just because you have an image of what your big day will look like and so far, this isn’t it. With so much to take care of, in such a short amount of time, it’s impossible to put in the research necessary to know if you have picked the right photographer, venue, dress, DJ or band, ceremony, appetisers, florist, chair covers… wow I think I need to lie down. Everyone is telling you that they are the best at what they do but you rarely get to meet …

How to stay motivated when working for yourself.

Being your own boss can be amazing. You can take breaks when you want, you can work in your pyjamas and can sort your own priorities. Procrastination is the enemy of any entrepreneur and can be the death of great art. But not to worry- there are a few handy tricks I have found help me stay on track. Allot your time-  Living by lists …

Great Graduation gifts with a personal touch

Celebrating a loved one passing that big exam or seeing them graduate and gain that degree can be fantastic! Trying to find them a less corny gift to tell them how proud you are can be less fantastic. When my little brother graduated from university last year I was surprised to find that all that was on offer in ways of gifts for graduates were cheap, plastic ‘token’ presents, or nothing at all. Seeing your little brother graduate is a huge deal, shouldn’t his present reflect that? So this year, with my brother, Paul’s help, I have designed a few personalised gifts that can be tailored made to be just …

The journey of designing to selling.

Every collection starts from a tiny idea that, with a bit of pulling and stretching develops into a full scale project. Our jewellery and gifts can be inspired by anything from a great song on the radio, to the doughnut I had for lunch. As soon as I have even the hint of an idea, I hit the books, (sketch books that is.) I do a rough doodle of the initial idea and come up with relevant words which I then google and search for on Pinterest. This brings forward more images that inspire more ideas. If I can find a running theme connecting the majority of my favourite …
